I'm not sure how to explain the feeling, but I'm going to try.  I had been meaning to come back to this thread and give a better response!

To me, the -Mut brings Bast closer to Hethert.

Bast is like fire and passion, protection and joy.
Mut is serene, like the cool waters of Isheru, with a hint of fire and the joy of motherhood and regality.

-Mut's water lessens the fire of Bast, but keeps the love and joy.  Motherhood and Queenliness keeps her protectiveness and perhaps increases it some.  Thus I refer to her as the Queen of Joy.

I have no interaction with Sekhmet-Mut (only with her children!) nor with Hethert-Mut.

I'm not sure which you're specifically working with, but I am beloved of Heru-sa-Aset! Some things he loves from me include coffee, chocolate with nuts, and cookies with nuts.

Em hotep and welcome new friend!

The April Gathering was an amazing event!

I was really excited to have the chance to meet people I'd not get to see at other events (such as Retreat), and I was excited for those who could finally take Weshim-Ib who wouldn't be able to travel the distance to Portland and for whom Ohio was a good medium location. The fact that we were able to get Hemet (AUS) over to do these things was very special.

The huge Procession was super special as well, and it was the first of its kind in 2000-some years. Being in the presence of so many Names in the form of state icons was intense. This procession was possible because Hemet received enough income from us to be able to research and create a brand new rite specific for this event. This new rite can now be easily modified for future gatherings! (Which I'm just bouncing with joy to be able to attend!)

We had other fun things to do as well! Coloring, an auction, and tons and tons of fellowship. My ka was certainly fed! Many new memories were made. I hope that we can do this again in the future. Thanks to the hard work of those who planned this. They have made it possible for many of us to connect, and for many more people to be able to step forward into new roles. (Nekhtet for new Shemsu-Ankh!)

A huge thank you to everyone in the House who made it possible for Hemet to create this special rite for us!

Love you all,

I'm still digging around, but this issue of the OIP has some images of Bast in it.

[PUBLIC] Fundraising Announcements / Special (new) Rituals
« on: April 28, 2019, 12:43:59 pm »
Every time we wish to create a new ritual (as we are planning for in Dayton with the procession of the State shrine icons), Hemet must:

  • Spend hours of research to find out what we know was done in antiquity.
  • Figure out how to make the logistics work in our time.
  • Sometimes she needs to do translations. Each translation takes hours.

All the research done is amazing and takes a lot of effort!  We are so lucky that our donations can go towards making these new rituals a thing.
