Your religion is your choice alone. Nobody can really take it away from you. If you feel better believing in religion X, as long as it harms none - by all means do. What I suggest is to stand your ground and make people respect your choice, so you will be able to respect theirs in return.

I don't know if you have chronic nightmares or insomnia, but I losing sleep can be the result of many reasons.
Try to go for a walk in the evening, if possible. Make yourself lemon balm or chamomile tea or simply warm yourself a glass of milk and mix some honey inside. It helps a lot. In addition, you might want to consider calming music before you fall asleep. What works for me here is Enya and Peter Crowley who makes fantasy music. I'm not saying it will work for you as well but the point is that music helps.
It really depends on the reason. If you suffer from some kind of disturbance that is beyond everything ordinary, maybe some kind of medicine for sleep will help.

Oh! Ituiemhat reminded me! Ituiemhat, you're awesome! Maybe you can do a simlpe gratitude prayer and ask for pleasant dreams. From my understanding I'd turn to Aset, Djehuty since they have a lot to do with magic and the Duat to where our soul supposedly goes in our sleep, or Bast who for me, brings a lot of inner comfort and peace. Prayers are types of Heka or magic that Ituiemhat mentioned earlier.

I hope it helps and you will have more peaceful sleep soon. In my opinion, in addition to magical rites, it's important not to neglect the scientific reasons for the nightmares. Maybe you're going through a hard period in life right now. In any case, maybe you should consult your family doctor, just in case.

Update: it seems like they're still going to take away a couple of days off from me. It really sucks. Of course I'm not going to give up without turning to a lawyer first and examining a possible lawsuit against them and its outcome.

Em Hotep everyone!
First of all, I apologize if it's the wrong place to post it and feel free to move it to the right place on the forums. :)

My post is more of a rant but any feedback is appreciated. In the end of October ends my 2 year volunteering contract with my volunteering agency. My job is one of a teacher. So the rules are simple:
1. Each week a volunteer has to work 40 hours a week. The person in charge at our job can allow us a temporary condition of less hours per week but we have to cover them later by working extra.
2. Each year, the volunteers have 22 holiday days off and 20 sick days off (we need to add a note from a doctor if we take them). These days off can't be moved from one year to another. There is an option to volunteer 1 year and there's an option for 2 years. It's my second year now.

So during the first 2 months of my first year, my boss didn't have a fixed schedule for me and told me I'd cover the lacking hours later. I lacked 60 hours, which I later covered by working 45 hours a week for the next 3 months. My coordinator from the volunteering agency knew and she agreed.

Recently, by the end of my second year (I have 17 holiday days left), my coordinator told me last week that those extra hours I worked didn't count because "extra hours only count for that specific month". And I'd have to use my holiday days to cover for the lacking hours.
I read my agency's policy about lacking hours and nowhere it's said that extra hours count only for that specific month.
I ask myself several questions:
1. Why did she tell me this only now? The papers with extra hours "weren't fixed" in the system. And I sent them to her twice.
2. Holiday days can't be moved from year to year so... how does she plan to "cover" the lacking hours?

I sent her the screenshots in whatsapp with my agency's policy about extra hours and asked my boss to talk with her. He said he would. In the worst case scenario I'd turn to a lawyer.

But for the time being, I often encounter thoughts of anxiety here and there. I try to calm myself down but it's excruciating. /end of rant
Technically I have the upper hand but... grrr... -sigh-

Any thoughts?

Yep.  I can see that for Seshat, especially as a record keeper, and of course definitely Djehuty as a librarian, working at either the grandest library in the world, or even just a small town library too.  :)

Well not exactly Senut but daily prayer. Usually I do it in the morning after breakfast and brushing my teeth. It gives me a much better and calmer rhythm for the day. <3

I get a lot from what you described from him as well. The inspiring energy, in the sense that every day is a new day and I should do the best I can. At the same time He's kind and encouraging.

I'm not a morning/day person either. But now I try to have a bit of balance between Solar and Lunar Netjer.
