An interesting full size photo:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/manna4u/36210962960/sizes/o/

Nit is off to the right, caught in 'by accident' of the photographer.

We can make out the glyphs, "Nit, Great Mother of the Gods, Queen of Heaven."

(Edited to add: Oooh, I found a better photo:

("kairoinfo4u" is best photographer on flickr, he takes such high res photos that all the details are captured.)

Very cool!  Thank you!

At one point I lost the 'spinny' tool, so I closed and went back in again.

Here is a great photoset from Seti's tomb:

Seti is my most favorite pharaoh (Hatshepsut a close second).

Em hotep and welcome!

Which are your favorite tombs?  (I'm partial to those of Horemheb and Nefertari. (I've never visited, but enjoy seeing photos others have taken.)  The images are good for inspiring art.)

Set's been an "initiatory force" ever since I first encountered Him, encouraging me to a lot of growth!

Greetings and Welcome!

I too heard Set's loud voice early on (2004 or so), and he guided me to learn about his brothers and sisters and all of the pantheon.  He's Ra's able defender on the barque of Ra.

He grants strength and endurance to all those who seek after Ma'at, (for he is seen so often in the blessing scenes with pharaoh, granting strength to the pharaoh, while Heru-Wer (Horus the Elder) grants vision).

All the Netjeru work together to enable Ma'at.

Blessings to you as you seek, may you find what you need!

There is also at least one scene in which Set is teaching a pharaoh how to work with a bow and arrow.

@Neheh...is this a familiar picture to you? If so, do you have the one I might be thinking of?

Thank you,

Tatuayinepu

Yes, I have images of it:

Indeed, the pharaoh wouldn't trust an 'evil' god to teach him archery, as he could end up skewered!

As for Set's character, I would point to the art of the Ancient Egyptians.  There are many scenes in which Set (usually along with Heru-Wer, his brother) is blessing the pharaoh. They would not choose an evil deity for this task.

In the blessings, Set grants the pharaoh strength, while Heru-Wer increases the pharaoh's vision, so that he may be better equipped to rule.

Evidence:
Set and HeruWer blessing Rameses III:
http://www.joanlansberry.com/setfind/set-ram3.html

Seti I (MenMa'atRa), whose name means "Man of Set, Set's man" receiving this blessing:

Set (with Amun Ra and to the right, HeruWer) blessing Thutmose III:

The view of Set as a troublesome deity came in the Greco-Roman times, but even then there were pockets of areas in which the people were devoted to Set, in the oases.

Neheh...
