[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Netjeri
« on: February 06, 2015, 03:15:31 am »
Em Hotep

During Senut last night (I do it during the evening), I have 4 candles (tea lights) 2 either side of my oil burner (incense irritates my asthma).

X      X
X     X

that kind of pattern.  The top right extinguished itself, followed by bottom right then bottom left and final top left, the one for the oil burner remained lit. It definitely left a sense of Netjeri involvement due to the order it was done in.

My question is has anyone had similar experiences, where Netjeri are being cheeky?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Sekhmet's Children

Thank you everyone. I am not 100% sure but I definitely get the feeling the silence is coming to an end. She seemed to be annoyed in the same sense when you call someone in the street and they didn't hear you. I felt bit surprised and guilty for not noticing Her in the other signs She has given me. If I name it a garnet then I would associate it with Sekhmet. She put it fairly forcefully into my hand, but I am not sure what it means by her offering me one. I may have to wait and see.

Thank you for your advice.

I have being having trouble with contacting Netjer as a whole. I had a vivid dream that Sekhmet told me she had tried to do things subtly but obviously I was missing her hints. She then offered a red gem. I think it was a garnet maybe a ruby. I am still unsure what she means by this. I thought i would ask those who know her best.

Em Hotep,

Abstaining from most food for a short period of time. And yes, being mindful on the body and well as possible spiritual experiences.

Em Hotep,

I am curious if any one in their personal practise, has taken a fast and if you don't mind sharing, how was your experience? and how long did you do it for?

Wow, that make my mouth open in shock.

Em Hotep,

Thank you for your support, I thought I was doing something wrong. I am used to Her being around. Hopefully She will appear again when I officially become a member of the House.

Em Hotep,

A reading would be much appreciated and yes of course I will donate to the House. You do it on the homepage don't you?

Em Hotep,

I have worked with Bast the most in the past, She pushed me to come to the HoN and then went silent. Be great to figure out what's going on.

Em Hotep,

I think in-depth would be better, just in case I don't ask the right questions. I don't know Who my parents are, so I am not sure how to go about it

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Divination

Em Hotep,

I have being struggling to contact Netjer, I haven't had much luck in receiving any messages or signs. Hemet advised me that I should ask someone who will perform divination for me, to see where I am going wrong. Will anyone be willing to do this for me?

Em Hotep, :)

I have limited access to information, I don't have much in the book fund yet but I am working on it. The only Egyptian books I have looked at are the ones from the library (usually history) and the stuff on the internet. I try stir away from Budge then.

Thank you for responding and providing me with the link. I was just curious about KO ideas. I have seen the afro-centric kemetics on youtube focusing on vegan / vegetarian diets based on the sacredness of animals and thought it was quite "new-age" and perked my interest for KO thoughts.

Thanks a lot

Em Hotep,

I am an omnivore and I understand that in Budge's 42 negative confessions, one of those are about being against slaughtering sacred animals. I assume that means the consumption of said animals as well.

Is there a list of which animals are sacred to which Netjer(et)?
Do you choose to do eat particular animals because of the mythology of divine parents?
Or is it a personal issue, if your divine parents ask you to stop consuming a particular meat?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Does Apep have any modern relevance?
« on: January 18, 2015, 11:10:25 am »
Em Hotep,

I don't believe in "demons" or "daemons". It may have being an Ancient Egyptian way of understanding, but I sure don't.

To me this mythology makes the most sense.

A-pep has always been, in the time before Zep Tepi when the Creator lay within Nun, either sleeping or a sleep like state, A-pep was there alongside, protecting the Creator from the unknown, then the Creator woke up or became aware and began creating spiritual and physical forms. A-pep no longer had purpose, the Creator no longer needed protection from the unknown. So hateful, jealous or angry for having nothing and being nothing, A-pep went against the Creator and went to undo what was done, so the Creator will return back to the ways of before.

I don't take the mythology as a literal hypothesis of how the universe began. Just because something is a concept or an idea doesn't make it any less divine or dangerous. Love is a strong and powerful emotion, that makes people do the most beautiful and hateful acts, it can cause bliss and grant endurance, but also physical pain and even death. Its source is divine, but it doesn't have actual form.
