In my experience with animal totems, birds in general are often intermediators between the celestial spirit realm and Earth. Now because you aren't getting a specific bird as a totem, I'd say it's a general message to let you know you are connected and keep your intuition open for messages from the God/ddesses or spirits.
In my school of thought, birds are masters of Air-the element of communication, beginnings, travel, thought and education.
The majority are also daytime animals and live here on Earth with the ability to get closer to the sun than most other animals....metaphysically,h to illuminate the power of thought, inspiration and intentions as well as effortlessly transfer the gifts and challenges of fire energy (action, courage, strength, transformation, passion, protection)
Become aware of actions based on your mode of thinking or verbal interactions. If its in alignment with your life's chart, rapid growth or divine insight could occur.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Death
« on: May 12, 2016, 01:00:36 pm »
The way I see it is all of life is energy and energy does not die, it only changes form. Death is not a state of being, it is a process of transition of our true being to the next state...we aren't technically our living body anymore than we'd be our dead body. Our consciousness is not bound to our brains anymore than it is bound to our bodies or by our 5 senses outside of the experience of limitation for the difficult growth of wisdom for the soul.

There was a story I heard sometime ago about a foreign man who spent time with an African tribal group that had been secluded in the depths of the jungle for generations. They had adapted well to living and hunting within its depths. The jungle was thick and so their interactions amongst each other and the animals they hunted were in fairly close contact.
One day, a few of the tribal men journeyed with the foreigner to the edge of the jungle. The expanse of grassland/savannah that stretch out before them was immense. Something they had never seen and so when the foreigner pointed out the water buffalo in the far off distance, the tribal men shook their heads no, and were absolutely convinced that they were ants because they were so little.
They had spent so long living their lives one way, that their perceptions adapted to the senses in a unique way...to support the type of lifestyle that they were accustomed to.
The point of the story is to exemplify the power of our perceptions, which are based partially on our experiences and beliefs. As we change our beliefs, we can change what and how we perceive.
I have found for myself that my growth spiritually has greatly increased my sensitivity to different energy vibrations and a simple 'knowing' of certain things that have ended up being accurate, that defy what most people sense, maybe because they don't believe it or are not open to it in general.
It has led me to believe without a doubt that there exists MUCH more than what is generally sensed by us and this is a snipet of what I think our awareness is like when we pass.
When we pass, we become MORE of our true selves, not less.  Metaphorically its like us in life, being our pinky toe, and after death, realizing we are actually part of a larger body, in existence, knowledge and experience.

I believe we move to a resting place-one of restoration, especially important to those that died traumatically or very suddenly. I believe that this place of restoration, more specifically when a person has freshly crossed over, can mimic the perceptions of what the person believed would happen when they would die.
After restoration, our souls may choose to prepare for another life or we may stay and help those that do choose to go back. I don't believe that we are forced to come back and I don't believe in a place of damnation, because I don't put stock into the classical 'good' and 'evil' adopted by many.
I believe that there are multitudes of worlds and various multi-dimensional realities far removed from our understanding presently, but we become much more aware of after crossing over.

I love turtles, but especially Tortoises! I'm an animal lover in general though. :P

Hopefully you'll get to take the course. I enjoyed it very much.

Take care for now.

[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Hello everyone!
« on: March 09, 2016, 04:03:56 pm »
Em Hotep!

Just wanted to introduce myself on here.
My name is Chrystal and I am a fairly new Remetj.
I am a Canadian, living on the west coast of British Columbia. A wife, and mom to three kids (10, 7 and 1 1/2). I am a writer, teacher and energy healing facilitator and aside from my involvement with the Kemetic Orthodox faith, I am a Wiccan High Priestess.
Really excited to be here! I enjoyed the beginners class a lot and am looking forward to learning my way around here better and maybe have the chance to get to know some of you too. I have taken part in a couple of the weekly online prayers and such, and I am really impressed at how much is offered. :)
Cheers!

I'm a Wiccan High Priestess and I practice magic, and no, these two things are not synonymous with one another, but most Wiccan's do practice magic. I've been practicing for about 9 years, and what I've come to understand about witchcraft is that the energy used most often is neutral. Its how you imprint on it with intention that leaves with a sense of negativity or positivity.... of course this is subject to your perceptions of what is negative and positive as well to some degree.
What many people don't understand about the craft is that nearly anything you do can be made into a simple spell, provided the intention and energy is properly engaged to this end. Witchcraft doesn't have to be big, grandiose ceremonies with conjured spirits and the like. When you understand the basics of magic, you understand its simply another form of naturally occurring energy used to create a desired result.... not evil, just different and not well understood by science, if at all considered by most divisions of science at this time.
Aside from how I believe magic works, witchcraft/witch are loaded terms. I use them all the time cause I don't care what people think anymore (out of the broom closet) but I'd be naïve to think that there still aren't people in my community, in what I would generally describe as a liberal city, that will seriously dislike me simply for embracing the terms/practice.
The brainwashing, fear- mongering and persecutions that took place in the middle of the last millennium  really took its toll, and unfortunately is still fed by certain religious groups/people, and pop culture today.

At this time I feel most connected with Djehuty, Ma'at, Aset and I had Sobek come to me during a meditation, which actually surprised me a little. :)
