[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Questions for Entering the Beginning Class
« on: February 19, 2019, 03:50:49 pm »
I am 22 and I'm a dependant with my mother. I want to take the beginner class but I need her permission and right now she and I are not on speaking terms. She's never had a problem with me practicing my religion but due to how tense the situation is right now I don't trust her. My father is very supportive of my studies but he is not living with us right now. What do I need to do to take the beginner class in my current situation?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Who Would Like Patchouli Incense?
« on: February 17, 2019, 12:09:37 am »
Em hotep, everyone! I have a question when it comes to incense.

I've finally been able to get another lighter so I can light candles and incense. I have a lot of Patchouli because it's very relaxing, but I wonder if there are any Netjer that may like it? I often hear about Dragon's Blood and Frankincense but, for all the scents that exist in the world, those can't be the only two that the Netjer enjoy. If anyone could let me know who may like it, I'd appreciate it!

Dua'et!

Em hotep, everyone. A bit of context to help explain the title. I'll keep it as brief as possible but pardon me if this post becomes very long.

My mom reacted very poorly to a mental breakdown I had. I warned her to stay away from me and she took it as a threat. In reaction, she attempted to trap me in my own house and told me to cancel all of my classes when I only have one year left to get my bachelors degree. My aunt came to save me thankfully and I was able to continue to go to school. I am receiving mental help now and going forward with my plans to move out. I am not talking to my mother because of not only what she did but she completely belittled me as a person when she did it. I will hopefully be able to move out when I graduate.

I haven't done prayer in an awfully long time so I grabbed my prayer beads, filled my goblet with beer, got a slice of bread and made a whole bunch of spaghetti. The leftover beer that wasn't given for libation was drunk and I ate all the food I prepared so none of it would be wasted. I didn't know what to ask the Netjer for other than strength and guidance. I prayed to Tehuty since I knew he would think logically about my situation, Nut as I felt that she's been the better mother figure in my life, especially right now and for some reason, I said Yinpu's name out loud. I've just been thinking about him lately and I'm not one hundred percent sure why. Like all Netjer, I respect and follow him. I have never ignored him but I've never had a reason to ask anything about Yinpu before. Could he be trying to tell me something?

If anyone knows what could help me in this situation and/or what Yinpu may be trying to help me with, I would greatly appreciate it.
Dua Netjer en-ten!

Em hotep!

Tomorrow is my 21st birthday and I don't know what prayer I should say or how to honor the Netjer for my birth. Is there a proper way to do it or should I not worry too much? Thank you!

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Our form of "Merry Christmas"?
« on: December 13, 2017, 05:16:30 pm »
Em hotep, everyone! I hope the preparations for the upcoming holidays are treating you well.

I'm curious as to what our form of saying Merry Christmas is. Right now I have come up with "Em hotep, Heru her mise." which should be close to "Have peace and happiness on the birth of Horus."
However, I feel like there is a more accurate greeting for this. If anyone has a better way of wording it, it would be much appreciated.

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone knew of some neat snacks I could try out and where to buy them. I know of those marshmallow cookies that originated in Egypt, but I want to try something you don't see everyday.
Any kinds of snacks are appreciated. Though wowie I love my sweets.
