[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: What time do you do Senut?
« on: June 26, 2018, 01:32:34 pm »
Em hotep!

My sweet spot for doing Senut used to be at twilight, or shortly after, it was a good quiet time of the day for me to steal away some me time when I had younger children. My children are grown now, but still living at home, and in the hours where I instinctively want to do Senut, they are very noisy,  ;D  and lot is going on.

So now I do it mid day, everyone is either working (or sleeping!) at that time. It works nicely once I get there. But the sunlight, and the neighborhood noises make my brain say "No, it's not time yet."  Black out curtains have helped, but I think I will always wish I could do it right around sunset.

Hotep! And Welcome back!

Aset was pretty instrumental in my swallowing my pride and returning. Even though She is not my Mother, I owe her a lot for stepping in for me.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Beloved Divinations
« on: May 21, 2018, 01:04:17 pm »
Em hotep *henu*

I don't want to take this off topic, but I can not express the relief I am feeling, to hear others say that they felt they were too hasty, or would have made a different decision.  I adore Nut,  She was the reason I went for a Beloved divination years and years ago.  She gave me the choice. I am not so sure that I would have made the decision to go forward with it now, because I just crave the intimacy of my simple one Parent, one Beloved Shemsu divination. I even fear gaining new Beloveds a bit now. I have been carrying a bit of guilt for feeling less connected to Nut over the years, and never knowing how to approach her. I remain awe struck by Her of course, but I also uncovered something in an old journal not long ago, that might have explained the facination I had at the time I went for a Beloved Divination.

I'll keep her of course, but I do think if I had the option now, I would have chosen differently. Just for the sheer responsibility of it all. I really hope that doesn't sound horrible.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: What do you wear?
« on: May 12, 2018, 01:57:26 pm »
Em hotep everyone!

I used to wear just a simple silver chain with a silver Wesir pendant on it, but I lost it during a transatlantic move.  When it came to replacing it I found it is no longer available.

Now I wear a rosary-chain style chain of Garnets (for Nit) with a side view silver pendant of Wesir. This has worked out to be my favorite necklace. I have another I made out of lapis-chain and a pewter Wesir pendant (for Nut and Wesir). And I have a Faience Djed on a turquoise chain.  But I wear the Garnet chain the most because I love it so much. One day I hope to incorporate Nut into it as well.

I also have a ring which is an arrow wrapped around the finger for Nit.

Em hotep Rev Remenit!

Em Hotep,

Nit-Wesir is the first one that comes to mind.

This is a syncretisation between Nits royal funerary function at Abydos, mentioned in I believe daily lives of the Egyptian gods.

On phone so if wanted could give a larger answer later.

As Sat Wesir Meryt Nit, I would love to hear absolutely everything you had to teach on this! I don't have that that book anymore, maybe I should fix that.

Em hotep Taysat!

OMG, how are YOU?!  I think about you all the time, and it is so good to see you again!  I still have the Lord of the Rings Tarot deck you gave me so many years ago!

Anyway, sorry for freaking out there a little. This has just made me very happy. XD
