Ii-wy em hotep Nenrenef!

I love that feeling of being inspired. I wandered away from Kemet for a while to explore new things when I was in a bad mental place and feeling disconnected.  In reconnecting, I am reminded of how amazing that inspiration is. truly awe inspiring.

Very nice to meet you.

Em hotep!

My jaw is on the floor!

Em Hotep!

It's nice to meet you. I hope you find what you are looking for here!

Em hotep!

One of my favorite television shows is Penny Dreadful. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but there is some seriously bad Egyptology in there, even for the Victorians. Still trying to be spoiler free... there is a union between a male and female God that can never ever happen because doom, doom, doom will occur.

I'm kind of a roll my eyes and laugh at it person (haven't always been). But I'm not one to seek out anything when Kemetic Gods or mythology are being used to build or carry a story. But I don't really throw the baby out with the bath water if something is good, either. (I am remembering an episode of Buffy where "Osiris" was used to bring someone back to life. Buffy was too good to let even a gross misunderstanding of my Father get in the way.)

I do feel some mild anxiety about these things though.  This Friday a game I have waited years for is bring released; Assassin's Creed Origins. It's set in Ancient Egypt, and it is going to establish some major canon for the franchise. The Assassin's Creed developers are usually really good at recreating a time setting that is accurate and respectful,  but I am worried that a love of mine (the game) and my life (Kemet) are going to collide and it's going to get ugly. I will give the game a full chance, I just hope I don't have to make any decisions that will give me the spiritual creepy crawlies.

Em hotep everyone!

Thank you so much for your warm wishes everyone.  You'll have to be a little patient with me, I have not posted on a forum since... well since I was last here! I can't remember the etiquette for responding to everyone without being spammy. So I am going to try and get you all right here. ;)

@Inqi Thank you. I certainly learned what doesn't work for me. That you can't force things, and where home is.

@Sedjfai. Thank you so much. That means a lot to me! Your comment actually reminded me to attempt to log into the account. I made it in! So I posted a few more fabric painting pictures that I have done recently.  I really appreciate the support. I hope to paint more and do more gourd work in the near future.

@Tjemsy, That's sweet of you to ask.  I am taking it one thing at a time, and have actually submitted an application for the beginners course again. (I stepped down a "level" at a time from W'ab to Divined Remetj, and then decided to part altogether.) I have this disorder that was undiagnosed at the time (Avoidant Personality Disorder) which I am treating now. Without going into too much detail in public, it kind of made me run away from things and people. With some treatment and clarity now, I realized that it had a lot to do with why I left to begin with. I just have to take it one step at a time.  I do miss my Shemsu-Ankh hood very much though. It's really special. Time will tell if I end up there again. :)

@GezauSenu, Thank you for the information. I just may end up doing that if I get too impatient waiting for the beginners course. I'm not sure if I got in my application in time for the October class or not.

Also, thanks for not rolling your eyes at Khai. Haha. Sometimes watching grown-ups fawn over one another can be uncomfortable. But I'm pretty sure it has contributed to our 22 years together,

Much love to you all, old friends and new!

Writing introductory posts are awkward, but here goes.  :P

Hello, I am Djedet, and yes that is a bonafide House of Netjer name! I first found the faith in 2001. I was very active for several years, too!

I went my own way about six years ago.  To keep it as succinct as possible, I had to figure some stuff out. I had to learn some things about myself. I needed to work on my relationship(s) with the divine.  I've come back to the boards again because I like to read a good discussion once in a while.  I've been practicing solo, and growth does not occur in a vacuum. So I thought I would hop on and see what's going on these days.

My husband (Khaiptah) Is still a Shemsu, and has recently resumed his activity on the boards, too. I think he said hi for me when he reintroduced himself, but I figured one better come from me.

So Em Hotep everyone!
