Today I planted two sets of seeds today and while chronicalling it in my 5 year gardening log book I also wrote to Bes some as well and I could feel his presence with me. When I was outside with my hands in the soil I could feel him right there with me. When I picked the seeds to put into the pots he helped me choose which ones. His is a lovely, inviting, content presence and I feel so blessed to have felt it.

Dau Bes!

I am an avid gardener but have been unable to make a sustainable one as of yet due to housing situations, but this season I am starting a new one that i will build on every season and will eventually grow into a plant nursery!
Since I am doing it as a way to cope and also because of my love of the earth and plants, I wanted to dedicate it, and Bes was right there for me, ready to claim the spot. I think that since He is a god of not only happiness and protection, but also fertility, He is the perfect fit for this garden. If it takes off like I hope it does, I might even be able to name my nursery after Him. I hope He likes it and everything goes well, because I am excited to get it started!

Ahh! This is super awesome and I wasn't honestly expecting much of a reply! Everything that everyone said is super awesome and I'm glad to see I'm not the only person that has thought in depth about their body after death! I love seeing the different things that people want to do and how they may decide to connect it to religion!

I have always been very interested in mummification ever since I was a small child. I watched so many documentaries on it that it seriously worried my school teachers because it was all I would talk about. Coming to Kemeticism I have been thinking a lot more about it and the role it played on the person in the afterlife. The normal way of burial now is either through slight preservation or cremation, both of which do not keep the body intact like mummification does.
My plan for years for my body when I die is to put no preservatives in it whatsoever and just shove me in the soil so that I can give my body back to the Earth in its entirety. This is because nature and the Earth is very important to me and has played a big role in my spirituality.
So I am wondering... how does being Kemetic affect your plans for your funeral? Is it important for us to preserve our bodies still? If we get cremated, will that affect us in the afterlife? Can you even get mummified anymore? Is it something that is still required?

So I did it.
I spilled my water, broke my incense multiple times, almost couldn't get my candles lit, and had to run and get water from the bathroom sink because I didn't have any purified water in my room. But I did it. I was able to laugh at my mistakes and I felt comforted as I went through the rite. Thank you all for your kind words, they really helped me!  ;D

Thank you all so much! I have severe general anxiety and so having never done a rite before i was really concerned, but y'all have really eased my worries! I now can't wait to do it and see what comes of the time!

Em hotep!

I am really wanting to do my first Senut rite, but anxiety is seriously getting in the way. I have everything I need, and tomorrow morning I will have the ability to do it with for sure no disruptions, but the idea of messing up something so important in front of the Netjeru is very scary honestly. Does anybody have any advice for a first timer?

Thank you!

So I finished painting and setting up my Senut altar and I am honestly really happy with it! Here it is (also with my Nefertem and Yinup shrines, and yes they have nicer boxes but they have had those boxes and so I can't take away from them heh)!!

I feel really good about this, and even managed to find Japanese incense to preserve the purity of it all! Now I just need to figure out what symbol to put on the lid, because I have the feeling it needs something.

I just got the stuff for my first ever Senut shrine and I am so excited for it to all come together! I don't have the money for a box, so I am decorating a painted shoe box I found in my house (I hope that is acceptable, it really is all I have right now. I thrive on discipline and am really stoked to start doing this everyday, or at least once a week since energy is very hard to come by for me. Picture soon to come!

I just recently joined the group but I have been working with Anubis for a few months now and Nefertem for a few weeks! I am happy to be here and excited to meet some new people!
