Heru-sa-Aset's Greatness
« on: December 02, 2009, 08:55:26 pm »
When it comes to the two most famous and more commonly divined Herus, we all know who'd win a popularity contest. I suspect he knows it too :P Heru-Wer's manly and war-like and kick-ass and we love him.

It's too easy to think of Heru-sa-Aset as his little cousin. To forget about him in the shadow of the raucous party guy. And when we associate Heru-Wer with the kingly ka, it's even easy to forget that aspect of Heru-sa-Aset's life.

No longer! This thread is about Heru-sa-Aset! In all his glory! So come, one and all, post anything you like about Heru the saviour of his father! Pictures, experiences, poems, songs, hymns, rituals! Have fun! :D Go to your shrines and make offerings if you like, rattle on sistra and bang on drums, and generally celebrate how powerful and great Heru-sa-Aset is :)

Dua Heru-sa-Aset, Nekhtet!

I have never met Him, but I think of Him and Heru-wer whenever I see hawks sitting on telephone wires, watching out for prey.......or Shemsu.

Excellent topic (biased? moi?)

Here one of my favorite spells from the coffin texts (148)

"I am Horus, the great Falcon upon the ramparts of the house of him of the hidden name. My flight has reached the horizon. I have passed by the gods of Nut. I have gone further than the gods of old. Even the most ancient bird could not equal my very first flight. I have removed my place beyond the powers of Set, the foe of my father Osiris. No other god could do what I have done. I have brought the ways of eternity to the twilight of the morning. I am unique in my flight. My wrath will be turned against the enemy of my father Osiris and I will put him beneath my feet in my name of 'Red Cloak'."

In my experience He is not that fond of sistra. When I was pondering if I should get one He said: "What do you want with that noisy thing?"

Haha! My over-exuberance coming out, I think ;D By the time I wrote this I was feeling positively overwhelmed with emotion. Note to self: No noise-makers.

Much as I love Him, I would never deny that you are the biggest Daddy's Girl     :D

I can't think of anything constructive to add at the moment (just Yay, Dad!) except that He seems to like coffee. I don't drink it myself, but I always offer Him coffee cake and I have a coffee-scented candle for Him. He likes chocolate cake, too. I tried to offer some to someOne else once, and got a very firm "No, cake is MINE"

The sense I get from Him (I don't know if it has any affect on me as He's my beloved) is He's the Hyper Heru. He's not just younger in name. As I've said before, He reminds me of a soldier, of someone in their 20s. It's not a bad thing, and He can definitly get down to business when necissary, but that's just how I get Him :)

I have had that song in my head for some weeks now. And it finally went out...thanks Qait for putting it back in there :D

Heru-sa Aset is awesome!
Loyalty is what I like about him. And being Aset's son I guess I am a little biased too :)
In my RPD it was said I should go to him when I need things dealing with my akhu
