Coming to the House
« on: August 28, 2010, 11:03:33 am »
I didn't know where else to post this, but I definately wanted to just share this.

I really love the concepts and practices within Kemetic Orthodoxy and it fascinates me how it is possible to practice the faith of the people I have been studying all my life!
I have been worshipping the Egyptian pantheon for about a year now (before I knew of KO) in my own way and then I found the House. I wasn't sure if I wanted to join. Some ideas I wasn't sure upon and I was (and really still am) very comfortable in my current Tameran Wiccan path. I joined the beginners class so that I could learn more about it, and maybe incorporate some of the ideas.

I thought that as I am eclectic in nature I would try to include Senut rituals in with my practice as a way to have a daily devotion. Normally I wanted to do a daily devotion or contact Netjer but found casting circle to be too time consuming.  So Senut sounded great.

On Tuesday, the full moon, I did my first Senut rite and it has left me with this feeling that I have to join the house. It pushed me to buy the Ancient Egyptian Prayerbook and I can't explain the feeling.

I just wanted to share this with you all, so thanks to any one who reads this!

I'm glad what you've found so far seems to fit quite nicely into your practices, your intuition about the spiritual.

It's also nice that the House seems as soo inspiring community to be in, I hope that impression lasts >_>

Em hotep Amuntihera:

First, welcome to the House.  Secondly, you have plenty of time to decide after the beginner's course if Kemetic Orthodoxy is for you. You are always encouraged to take your time and be certain. :)

Hotep!  *henu*

Thanks for sharing your thoughts regarding joining the House and how your studies have affected you.  As Kai Imakhu Niankh has said, take all the time you need to decide if this is the right place for you, and if you decide you're still happier/more comfortable staying with Tameran Wicca, you're still welcome to stay around as one of "the people" (remetdj) and you'd be just as welcomed as if you fully converted into the faith and became shemsu.  ^_^
