Gods in the line-up
« on: October 26, 2010, 05:58:01 am »
'Lo everyone. I have been having fun looking at all your shemsu names and your line-ups. Has anyone done a chart/list of who belongs to which god or which gods seem to crop up more? Which gods appear less frequently? (I think I read that Nut was pretty rare)

Has anyone ever been divined with a god that isn't very well known? Sorry for all the questions but I find RPD and naming fascinating.

EM hotep and good morning

A corollary answer to your question is also that, while the NIsut has performed a few hundred RPDs over the years, in the general scheme of things that is just a drop in the bucket, so what gods might be less apt to show up might change within the next year or five years :)

Oh and in answer to your question "Has anyone ever been divined with a god that isn't very well known?"  I have Satet in my lineup.  I am the only person in the House with her in their lineup.

I have a not so odd, yet odd, one in my lineup. Wesir-Sokar. I know of a lot of individuals with Sokar-Wesir, but only one other person beyond myself I know that has Wesir-Sokar in their lineup.

While I myself do not have any unusually rare Names in my line up, I have a love for certain Names who don't seem to show up very often. Ma'ahes and Khnum for instance don't seem to show up very often, but are well-loved by many people :)

So far I'm the only child of Heqat, though Daryt has Her in her line-up as well as a Beloved.

Neither Bes nor Nut show up much; Mut happens more often but mostly in syncretisations.

Montu and Khnum are rare ones.

Montu has a son, who is no longer with the house and a beloved.

Khnum has a few beloveds, but no children as I understand

I know of very few Sobek children, both in and outside the House. Sobek seems to turn up more often as a beloved though. I don't know the number, but that seems to be more common for Him.

Then again, who knows? In ten years, maybe a whole bunch of Sobek kids will have turned up. :P
