I think I just opened the floodgates to Hethert
« on: November 18, 2010, 04:09:20 pm »
If this comes out muddled, I'm sorry. I'm still buzzing and crying a little - but good tears.
I finally gathered the will and guts to make a little makeshift shrine as described on these boards to simply sit and talk to any netjeru wanted to speak to me. I have a Ma'at statue, so that served, as well as a tealight, incense, and a large shell to hold an offering of water (when I don't know what to give, water has always been my safe bet).
As soon as I began giving thanks, and going "who's out there?" I got an instant impression of a sistrum, laughter, a red dress and perfume, and the feeling of "Finally! Girl, I've been here all along, and I love you so much!" Then I felt that love, and I had to cry, it was too much. I vaguely remember whispering "Mother", and feeling like I was crying on Hethert's shoulder.
I also "heard" Her say "I want you to laugh, love yourself, stop burying your joy in grief. And you don't dance anymore. Please dance. Dance is Love, and Love is Dance."
I then put on Enigma, "Gravity of Love" and danced for Her. Then I prostrated myself before the shrine and cried more - but I felt like a comforting hand was stroking my back.
And Love. Such glowing Love.

Awww! What a great experience! Thank you for sharing!! Hethert can make a good time out of the darkest of situations. She's full of love and so bubbly! I encourage you to keep speaking with Her. I know when I get incredibly down, She is who I go to for swift smiles and feelings of well being.

Then I felt that love

Ohhhhhhhh yeah. There's nothing like that love! :D :D :D :D
Look out the window. And doesn't this remind you of when you were in the boat, and then later that night you were lying looking up at the ceiling, and the water in your head was not dissimilar from the landscape, and you think to yourself Why is it that the landscape is moving but the boat is still?

That's awesome LH, it can be quite startling an experience like that, can't it? In a good way that is...when Wepwawet first gave me what I now call the "happy bubbles", I was taken aback...like-what is THIS now?? Haa...it was awesome. Enjoy!

Dua Netjer!

And for dancing!!!  I think I may go do some dancing now, myself! Inspired by you being inspired by Her. :)

Yeah, She does that.
My first experience with her was pretty much the same way. That intense sort of love that makes you stumble and shakes the noise inside your head something serious. But there's also a zen state that comes from it too, like a happy after-glow buzz.

Much love to you.

Em-Hotep-Lunatic_Heathen,

That is such a beautiful story; thank you for sharing this. The Netjeru can be very powerful/overwhelming and quiet loving. Like Maret has said, they can give you that wonderful 'zen' feeling as well; as if you are connected with everything around you; becoming as one with all and you are just at... peace.

Again, Thanks for sharing. :)

Ah, that's sweet. ^^  Makes me wanna draw a picture.  The snapshot I got was of Hethert holding out her hand with Hemet, Wenem on his gituar, Sesha on drums, Shemem singing, me drawing and KI Meres dancing, all around a campfire with our parents in the background, and maybe Menekh and Imti off-camera.  When this drawing gets done, it's not gonna looks like it does in my mind, but it'll get done anyways.  Prolly with a caption of "Come and stay at our campfire for a while..."

Thanks for the post and Nekhtet regarding the experience!  ^_^  I don't get the dancing thing (serious case of middle class white guy with no rhythm syndrome)  ^_^.  I think She would have the game face smile (like the kind you plaster on your face when your child makes you breakfast in bed and you have to eat it and tell them how wonderful it is)  ^_^.  I do have a good sense of humor thought and make people laugh which makes up for my drunken stork dance moves.  ^_^

I dunno, I got a sense of a lot of good-hearted laughter from Her, so maybe even a "bad" dance would be alright.
But I'm new to this, and simply did what I felt She wanted. No idea what She might ask from anyone else. I took 6 years of ballet (as a child) and self-taught some belly-dancing, so it just felt like a reminder of what I can do, and how I should honor Her.
