Alzheimer's Service
« on: December 20, 2010, 01:06:36 pm »
Em Hotep everyone *henu*

I just wanted to throw out there that I took a group of our university-level pianists to play for a local retirement community's Alzheimer's unit.  All we did was play a little classical music, hymns, and some Christmas music.  The staff were thrilled to have us and the patients really got involved.  I have plans to do it again and I suppose that even going to just visit or read, etc., does those folks a lot of good.

I hate to think that our visit was the only one some of those people got over the holidays.  It's definitely not a service activity for everyone, but just another option. :)
