Em hotep,

What do we know about Tayet? There doesn't seem to be a lot of information about her available.

This is a brief summary of what I can find about her:
* Provides the bandages for mummification
* Weaver of the tents and curtains  of the tent of purification
* Mother of the King who clothes him and lifts him up to the sky (PT741)
* She guards the king's head, gathers together his bones and grants him favor with the other gods (PT738)

What does her name mean? Are these the correct hieroglyphs for her name?

Does she have any Parents, Consorts, or Children according to any sources?

Does she have any cult centres? Was she ever depicted in art?

Pulling information from these sources:

Em hotep!

I found   this interesting link that mentions some connections to other Names. I hope it helps a tad bit!

Lots of love,

I got in my head somehow that she is a form of Aset, but have no idea where that came from.

Hotep Raheri,

That might come from the explanation of the Senut rite that appears in the NIsut's Ancient Egyptian Prayerbook on page 24 :) She says there that Tayet is a form of Aset (she does not add more information but perhaps it is because both Tayet and Aset have to do with gathering the body for burial for binding it with bandages.

Wilkinson's entry on Tayet says she had no cultic centers of her own although she appeared along with other deities in various centers.

Em Hotep *henu*,

interesting in this context might be the God of weaving Hedjhotep, who might be seen as form of Heru-Sa-Aset

Tanebetheru "Heru's Lordship"
Sat Heru Sa Aset her Nisut (AUS), Meryt Ra-Heru-akhety her Heru-Behedety
Heri-Sesheta Heru-Sa-Aset

This is what I was born to: to live, to love, to know, to change and embrace the infinite.

Thank you everyone, I was originally going to post this to Hemet's forum. But then I thought I should query some of the wise minds of the House. :)

Kai Imakhu Sedjemes,

I've also seen that the connection to weaving links her with Nit and the funerary aspect with Nebt-het. Of course, Nit and Nebt-het make up two-thirds of the tri-aspected divinity Nit-Nebt-het-Seshat.

And then the idea that she's also linked to Aset. We also know that Aset and Nebt-het together are known as the Ma'ati.
