Can anyone recommend a good beginners text for learning to understand hieroglyphs?

How to Read Egyptian Hieroglyphs by Collier and Manley.

There's actually a little study group starting up on KIN to work through it together.

You could probably get a copy from the library and catch up fairly easily.

Thank you! That was the book I had my eye on... I didn't know about the Inter-Kimetic forum so thanks for that, too. I'm registering for it now and hope to get involved with the study group!
