Em hotep, Senka!

This is a wonderful deck, Senka! It would be hard to conceive a better card oracle for a walker on the Kemetic path. As someone with some tarot experience, I can vouch for the 'power' of the symbolism - if you can get this, do ( I'm sure I got mine from Amazon UK )... I would recommend a daily 'working' with this oracle and it's ideal for meditation - elsewhere on this forum I've described a brief but profound intuition regarding Nut which derived from just a very short 'perusal' of her oracle depiction...

Thanks, Helms for the link!

Senka - my post was on the recent Nut thread - but all I was saying was that after a very short period of reflecting on the card representing Nut, I had a profound intuition regarding the 'vastness', the very 'enormity' of Nut ( tho in a comforting way ) and She's been 'around' for me ever since! I feel She introduced herself to me at that moment ( admittedly, I've always been drawn to the cosmological and astronomical! :)

Oh yes, I very much love Nut too :) I really enjoyed reading that whole thread and peoples take on her, the similarities. I get the feeling that she is so vast, loving and wise mother. I've also loved anything involving space! x

I know I'm about a month late to this thread but I enjoyed reading it.  I have a small collection of tarot cards and use the Clive Barrett's one as well but have always wanted one that felt more Kemetic.  I'll be getting the Doors deck and getting to know it. :)

Slightly off topic, but I actually had a dream very recently about Bast, she was depicted similarly to me as the Strength card from the rider waite deck. Only she was standing side ways with me behind her, exuding inner strength and she had a crown of yellow feathers behind her ears.... Pretty :)

I am glad you started this thread as I have been hankering after a kemetic deck for a while.. I am going to look at the ones mentioned.

Hotep, Blissi!

The Doors Oracle is just wonderful if you're looking for a great Kemetic deck - each card represents Netjeri ( with the Kemetic names ). Very 'deep' and potent mystically, I can't recommend it highly enough... A deck for meditation as much as for divination!

None of the suggestions in this thread are really Kemetic at all, but people were discussing the things they use in their divination work.

And proponents of many divination methods like to claim an origin in ancient Egypt. IMO the way you approach it, and what type of answers / ideas you're looking for can be more important than origin.

Could a Magic 8-Ball be used for serious divination, given the right mindset?

Absolutely.  The point is that we're not ancient Egyptians.  We have our own context and that's really okay.
