I'm reading the Red Pyramid now. So far it is very entertaining. You have to give some leeway for creative license though.

However, when that license gets my home city completely wrong I have to facedesk hard. If you want to get from the mountain to the river, while it's still bordering Mexico, you have to walk through downtown and somehow climb the border fence (which is not chain link) in order to get to the glorified irrigation ditch, which may or may not have water in it depending on the time of year.

Unfortunately, the Army Corps of Engineers ever so helpfully put the river in a "cage" so it wouldn't flood. But if you want to see crocodiles, or alligators, there is a lovely statue of them downtown. Why do people who feature my city in movies or books never bother to check a map?

/rant off   Ok, I feel better now. -goes back to reading-

I'm still reading the Throne of Fire. Haven't had much energy because my tonsils are inflamed. I'm going to petition Sekhmet to heal me. My mother is allowing me to get a Kindle and I've put the last Kane Chronicles book on my wish list. Going for my GED so that I can go to collage. I want to go to community collage and take history and art (yes, fav subjects of mine) and then go to a University and take Archeology. My area will be Egypt and then I can start doing what I've been wanting to do since I was little, be an Egyptologist.
I follow the rhythm of Egypt.

Oh my goodness... I lost an entire day and a half of my life reading that first book. So immensely good! I could not put it down. :)

OMG!! I read all of em! I freakin LOVE THEM!! They are sooooo funny! (and even better, they are very well researched. so they tend to be pretty accurate facts wise.)
As for Sadie, I Love her! she's lil miss attitude but funny! She reminds me ridiculously of myself!

I also though am a bit annoyed with Ra tho lol. He is funny as a senile old man but somehow I think Ra deserves better. (ps he does get better! but not till book 3.)

I read em all :)
ps the 3rd is out now. its called The Serpent's Shadow. :)
