Hi folks,

Does anyone know where I could find a Tefnut statue/icon to buy?

Peace out!

Em Hotep! :)

I have tried looking for a Tefnut statue/icon before without much luck.. You can always get a Sekhmet one and use it to represent her or another lioness? Bearing in mind though, Tefnut has pointed ears instead of rounded like Sekhmet. Another idea is you could commission someone to make you a statue of her. There is a really great shop on Etsy called   Shadow of the Sphinx  which quite a few of the members here have commissioned before. I've been tempted to ask him to make me a Tefnut one :) His prices are quite reasonable too.

Yeah, my Tefnut icon is a very generic lioness statue with a solar headdress. It was sold as Sekhmet (and yes, has more round than pointy ears), but to me gives a distinct Tefnut vibe. I'll try and see if I can find the store I got it from. The same store had another really interesting lioness: a seated one holding a chalice or a cup of some kind. I was thinking of ordering that one and using it for Tefnut as the returning Distant Goddess in December.

Yeah, I had a small crystal blue cat statue which I felt the need to use for Tefnut. This is the first   space  I made her for her. I would like to get something more lioness.. But what I have works for the time being :)

Akhyt - I would love to see your statue! Especially the one holding a chalice or cup, that one sounds lovely! :D

I am always asking if a God/Goddess would accept a certain statue...some are very picky about THeir representations

I was actually planning on getting that one before I foung the one I use. I got the feeling that Mom liked the colour but wasn't so sure about other stuff: at least in the picture the statue looks kinda plasticky to me. Ymmv, though :)

I used to have that statue a long time ago, and the older one was not plasticky in person (it was painted plaster, IIRC). If the picture is accurate, they might have started using a glossier varnish over the paint, but it looks like it's made of the same stuff.
Look out the window. And doesn't this remind you of when you were in the boat, and then later that night you were lying looking up at the ceiling, and the water in your head was not dissimilar from the landscape, and you think to yourself Why is it that the landscape is moving but the boat is still?

I have a small Tefnut statue.  It is made out of something heavy and dense. Probably a metal. And painted. She has a solar headdress I think (it's not in front of me) and is standing on top of an eye, under which it says Tefnut. It's not my favorite kind of statue but it's the only one I've ever seen or heard of.
For my own part, I know my job; my commission comes from Those Who Are. My paw raised is Their paw on the neck of the Serpent, now and always. -the Meditations (feline wizards)
