Amunet

I have recently become obsessed with Her.  Does anyone have any reliable internet resources for her?

Well, I know Amunet is usually paired with Amun or even seen as Amun's female form, so a lot of the information on Him could probably be said to apply to both of them.

PM TabauAmunet here on the forums. She is Amunet's only divined child so far, but she can tell you a lot about her. Also, try digging through the forums. Recently there was a thread about Amunet's connection with Mut.

Thanks!!    I knew we had an Amunet child here but wasn't sure who it was.  I will definitely contact her..and I'll also try searching for that post!

Sorry! I just saw this, but I got your PM.

Amun is similar to Amunet in many ways, but there are also quite a few variances. Mut is one of those Goddesses that absorbed Those around Her and took on Their roles, which is much of the connection from my understanding. Mut can assume the form of any Name She wants, and this shows up historically.

Amunet is Her own Name, and is very very old. :)

Em hotep everyone,

Tabau, may I ask what is the oldest known mention of Amunet that you know of? (Not necessarily by name, more as a deity that would be recognizable as Amunet because of traits etc. as mention?)

Em hotep Vaalea,

The oldest mentions that I have found would be from the Old Kingdom and earlier in the city of Hermopolis or Khmun. She is a primordial Goddess, and has had a few different names and faces over time as power changed hands and priests fought for power. Amunet Herself is a Creatrix and is very old.
