Cave Netjeru?
« on: December 16, 2014, 07:19:01 am »
Hotep! I went to Marengo Cave a little over a week ago, and it was super awesome! The energy of the cave, the atmosphere...everything just felt 'right'. Since then, I've kind of been feeling like there was/is a Name/Names Who was trying to get my attention, or perhaps a netjeri. I'm just trying to figure out Who it might be so I can talk with Them about my experience. So far, my list of potential Gods are:

- Yinepu <3
- Wesir
- Amun
- Nebthet
- Nun
- Ptah
- Ptah-Sokar-Wesir (or some other variant thereof)

Any ideas? Thanks!

I'd bet local netjeri, too.
Eventually, beings of mythology related to the place, in general (where kemetic concepts for them may not translate too well).

This might be morbid but I know there's a list of Netjeru who inhabit Underworld caverns. From George Hart's Dictionary:

1 Nine jackal-headed gods feeding on rottenness; snake guardians of
the Silent Region
2 Flame-breathing snake called Sesy; primeval gods called Nariu who
have the heads of catfish
3 NEHEBU-KAU encircling seven catfish-headed gods led by OSIRIS
4 Great one who is on his belly
5 NUT and ithyphallic Osiris
6 TATENEN
8 Those who raise their superiors to the sky
9 Gods of the Primeval Deep
10 Wailing goddesses brandishing axes dripping with blood
11 AMMUT

Some you already mentioned are on there. Tatenen is sometimes merged with Ptah as Ptah-Tatenen.

I know I definitely associate Nehebkau with caves.

Hope that helps!
