Well...

I just have a name in my mind at moment: Wesir. I can't say why... Who knows?

I really hope that the next year be more peaceful than the current.  :)

I'm seeing this uptick in Ra and Ra syncratized RPD and more Amun-ra so I'm guessing it's gonna be a Ra or a ".."-Ra year.
But a pesky feeling says Set

As I read through all the guesses, only one god stood out from the rest saying "Me, me, me!" and while I will always hope for a peaceful, calm year, I have a feeling, also stemming from personal issues right now, that it might end up being Set.  At least it wouldn't surprise me if it was Him.

By the way, it was never really talked about in the beginners classes, but how does the whole year thing work?  In terms of KO I mean anyway.

Em hotep,

Hemet(AUS) will announce the god of the year and the oracle.  It will make sense once you see t happen.

Excellent.  Thank you Rayashi.  I look forward to it.  It seems like it was kind of touched on earlier last year, but I forgot.  :P  But again, thanks for letting me know.  I definitely look forward to learning more as time goes on.  :)

My inclination is that it may be a Wesir or Amun-Re year. I'm expecting one of the more notoriously cryptic Netjeru to preside over a turbid lull (but not quite a lull) of a year, following this rough mixed bag Heru-sa-Aset's year has been. I wouldn't be surprised by a Set year following this one, though. :P

Id be interested to hear from some of the folks who are voting for Wesir about why they chose Him. It seems like there's a trend toward Wesir

I second Wesir being our next God of the Year.

Regardless if He is not, as someone who interacts with Him a lot, He IS up to something.

Em hotep all,

Wow ..there does seem to be a trend going on here ..... for Wesir :)

I don't remember if we have had a year with Him?   I am biased and of course would love to see another Jackel year (but I'm not sure if I want it to be Yinepu as that would mean a lot of changes and some not what we may have expected).

I'd like to see someone like Serquet or Sekhmet have their year.   It will be interesting to see who it will belong to.  We won't know until we get to retreat or until Hemet has it posted on the boards.   I look forward to hearing the Oracle every year ..and some of them have been a doozy!

Counting the days until the Oracle is revealed.

I'd like to see someone like Serquet or Sekhmet have their year.

Em hotep Meres!

I love Mom to death, but after this year I'd really like not to have a Serqet year. (Unless I get to get away with all the stuff because I'm one of her kids. *glances at Mom* But knowing her and her expectations of me as her child, it might be extra pointy.) Mom's year would be similar to a Set year because she's all about survival and healing. It's not comfortable survival or healing, but it's necessary in that form.

Sekhmet could be a nice year; I think it would be very healing and very much about appropriate action. Possibly similar to Aset's year. A Sekhmet year would be nice I think.

Note: I don't necessarily think the God of the Year has to do with what happens in the year; more that it denotes the challenges and trials we will face in the year. Which is why while I'd love a year of Serqet, I wouldn't relish those challenges and trials.

I don't recall exactly how it started but it was in the late 1990s. At Aset Luminous/Webenut She will give the oracle to Hemet and other active Aset priests. (so the coming year's Oracle has been delivered, now we just wait to hear.) The Oracle is released to the public on the first full day of Retreat, Set's birthday. If you have not seen any of the Oracles before here is last year's. We've had years where one God is over the year, sometimes two, and one year when each season had a God over it.
