Significance of braids
« on: October 28, 2016, 09:21:23 am »
Em Hotep,

I have been trying to find what, if any, significance braids had in ancient Egypt. I have looked it up several times but most of what I find is about children's styles. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Honestly I am pretty sure it was more fashion than religious and easier to work with for wigs.  Most Egyptians wore their have shaved and used wigs instead to protect themselves from lice.  If you look through their art different eras had different hairstyles.
