Finally Making a Formal Introduction
« on: July 13, 2017, 10:48:19 am »
Em Hotep Everyone!

I suppose now would be as good a time as any to make a more formal introduction to everyone.  My name is Kate, I just finished the last beginner section and am delighted to be here with everyone.  I found KO through my partner of five years now Tamiwi, which I'm sure a great many of you know, and found a draw to join after she had moved in with me.

I work as an Architectural Designer, but have an overall passion in learning and creating.  Over the last month or so I've been doing quite a bit of research following the end of the beginners course, and I really look forward to having more discussions and sharing with others in this family.  (I tend to make a lot of things I collect into visual formats because I find them easier to understand).  And I've also started sculpting Art Dolls, beginning with Set, and intend on making as many as I can of the different names as a further learning tool and connecting with them, so you may see some of my work in the future on all those fronts. :)

I also intend on doing the RPD and have started to compile my thoughts and feelings on the questions! -very excited-

Anyways, look forward to getting to know you all.

Senebty,
Kate

I know I'm sorry as well!  I was really hoping we could have made the trip work out, maybe by next year we can make something like that happen!  :)  We'll make it happen one of these times.

You must've been in my class! I hope you'll have a great experience. Tomorrow will be the day I'm able to send my questionaire to Hemet (AUS). This is so exciting!

The art dolls sound cool. Currently I like to embroider for the gods. I hope They like it too, haha!

Nice to meet you all too. :)  Thank you so much for the welcomes, I'm so happy to be here.  I will definitely be posting pictures of my work!  I do a wide variety of crafts, mostly with sculpting and casting things, but also jewelry and costume sewing so I know I will be busy.  I've also done woodworking for a time so some carving will be involved I'm sure as well, haha.

And yes Cinder I remember seeing you in a few Sunday classes!  I'm so excited for you to send in your RPD :) I look forward to seeing your results as well.  Who have you made a connection with so far if I may ask?  (Also I hope you post some of your embroidery!  I'd love to see it.)

Em hotep and welcome! ^_^ I'd absolutely love to see pictures of your Art Dolls--I mean, I'm a sucker for anything to do with my Papa, but I'm also a sucker for all sorts of creative devotional things in general anyway.

I'm supremely excited to hear Who shows up for you (and cinder!)--and, if I recall correctly, you and Tamiwi are my other Wisconsinites, yes yes? <3

Em hotep! Good to formally meet you. I'm also interested in seeing/hearing more about your Art Dolls. I love seeing Kemetic stuff in the world. It's always exciting when our gods get more attention. ^^;

I've been finding myself close to Set, Ra, Aker, and Min.  :) Wesir is a great connection to make, I've seen so much fantastic talks about him through these forums.

Please do!!  I'd even love to collaborate with some of the other artists on here sometime.

We are dear!!  I'm a born and raised Wisconsinite, Tamiwi is my convert haha.  <3

And don't worry you'll see lots of creative devotional things from me!  I'm a firm believer that if the things you place on your have heart put into them they can be even more powerful. <3

Also here's a few shots of Set so far.  He's a WIP, and feet are going to be next!  Then I'll be casting the sculpted parts and do resin pulls to build the armature for his body.  I'm planning on Him having a carnelian heart as well as a small scroll with a cartouche of His name on it at his core.

I'm not sure if people have seen Anya Boyz's Room Guardians but that's a similar style to what I'm intending.

But here is His sculpt!
