How to learn Middle Egyptian Language?

Can you give me some tips for learning the Middle Egyptian Hieroglyphics and their meanings?

I need it academically, so I need to understand Hieroglyphics in one years time.

My other language is German, maybe you know some useful ressources, books, programs, etc.

How long did you get to learn to read and understand Hieroglyphics?
