New, studying and learning
« on: April 06, 2019, 09:19:56 am »
Hi all!
I'm Lukas, a 33 year old transmasculine person. I actually studied some of Egyptian deities and what I could find before. I wasn't ready for this then, I think, but I'm glad I was able to find it now. Currently, I find influence from Ra, and maybe a few others, though Ra is my focus for now.

I'm still learning about my daily rituals. I'm very curious to learn about the holidays, and how they're celebrated, as well as the other ritualistic aspects (clothes, head coverings, rites, etc) that are used.

Erm, if I might comment, I'd like to say that I double checked your name, but aside from that... your name isn't commonly spelled that way for most folk, so there are chances it might have been "auto-corrected" for those on mobile, or misunderstood. I don't think that this happened with any ill intent. :)

Considering the intricacies of most of the names here, it just made sense that people would take the extra time. That's all.
How many of the terms and phrases used are also auto-corrected?

It's my chosen name. Just as important as any other name or title here.
I don't mean to ruffle feathers -- it's just disheartening, that's all. We take time for the names given here... Why not my chosen? Does that make sense?

I do not disagree, with you. :) as someone with a chosen name beyond my own that is used amongst the Shemsu of the Kemetic Orthodoxy, I understand the importance of your own, chosen name.
I say this merely to illuminate that perhaps giving these kind folks the benefit of the doubt, that it was not done with disrespect, may be appropriate. There’s a lot of misspellings of other names here, as well. When my name got changed after I became a Shemsu, it was actually misspelled as well! However, it was just an accident, and the moderator fixed it accordingly. No harm meant.

You’re no less important than anyone else, here. But at the end of the day, we are all still human and susceptible to error. 💛 That is all.

Sorry for that, Lukas! I had definitely posted on mobile earlier and it must've autocorrected - I've changed it to proper spelling in my reply ^^

Chosen names I feel ya, man - I'm sure no one did it intentionally! I've definitely been called by another, very similar sounding shemsu name before hah

Either way, I hope you still find what you need here and that this mistype isn't too discouraging for you!
