Hotep:

Actually there wasn't astrology like we have today (that came from the Greeks). No one was born under a Netjer, so you really weren't really born under the name of Wesir.  The reason that idea came to be is the New Age movement and has no historic basis. The Dendra zodiac that people use was created by Cleopatra VII during the Greca-Roman period.

The Cairo Calendar the is the list of good and bad days would be the one used by the ancients.  Also remember the calendar of Ancient Egypt wasn't based on the Julien calendar that we use.  And if you follow the calendar you will notice that the good and bad days may change due when Wep Ronpet happens. Not sure there's a reason why that date is a bad day, but as I said that may change year to year.

Sorry about the brain dump.

Your zodiac doesn't have to be predetermined by some silly chart. It can be more so as who you feel connected with the most and how you draw your connection with them. But that's my view, feel free to express your beliefs in a way that you feel comfortable.
I hope I was polite in my correction sorry for being rude.

Your zodiac is not predetermined by some silly chart. No instead Its more so as who you feel connected with the most and how you draw your connection with them.

Just a quick friendly critique. Please try not to criticize others beliefs. Many find solace comfort and guidance from their astrological charts.

I'm sorry about my rude statement. Sometimes the zodiac charts upset me because it feels l'm being forced to accept something I don't feel connected to. :-[

Greetings Saqdiheru~~
You've made an interesting comment about the use of the calendar. If it was actually used as a device it would, almost certainly, have been used by the priesthood (Dr. Sarah Symons, McMaster U, 2020), by the "Seers" in the temples. So, adhering to just one would be an enormous mistake...Cleo's included. Additionally, your comment that the days change is also VERY accurate. The main body of calendars the ancients left behind are on coffin lids from Asyut (only 21), the ceiling at the Ramesseum, KV-9's ceiling & the tomb of Senenmut. We have a good understanding of how the "charts" (grids) on each worked & the errors that would have made most star clusters (constellations) move out of alignment after only 40-years. Maybe the Asyut group was the first astronomy society! :D
Our knowledge of the calendar & how it might have been used is still in its infancy. However, Neugebauer & Parker are still the definitive authors on the subject. Thank you for pointing out the inaccuracies of this, still unknown, but beautiful system.
Courtesy is contagious!
