New guy here
« on: June 11, 2019, 08:56:25 am »
The gods brought me to this site and want me to join the clergy to share the messages and blessings they give to me with others. But I am afraid of being rejected because of my disability and my lack of knowledge. You see I have a form a autism known as Asperger's and I've be treated unfairly and rejected all my life because of my ticks. The god Horus appeared to me one day and spake "be my seer, my oracle, one who speaks to the gods and share our blessings with others" and I've spoken with the gods ever since but have been unable to share any blessings with others. And I still lack understanding of the Middle Egyptian language, and as for the gods i'm not sure I fully understand them yet. :(

please If anyone reads this I could use some help.

Em hotep Meriherupet!

Welcome to the House of Netjer forums! It sounds like you've had a very profound experience with Heru. If you feel like Kemetic Orthodoxy is the right place for you to serve Him, the first step would be to sign up for the Beginners' course: http://kemet.org/join. It explains Kemetic Orthodoxy and how we honor and serve the Netjeru. I am not positive but I believe the next class is just getting ready to start. The course is accessible to those with disabilities, including autism and Aspergers.

Em hotep, and welcome!

Since the previous post stated what I might have quite well, I've not much more to add. I hope your experience here is a positive one. Thank you for sharing what sounds like a pretty profound experience with Heru.

You would never be rejected because of a disability, or due to lack of knowledge or experience.  Welcome!

Em hotep and welcome to the House!

There's actually way more disabled and autistic people in the House than people expect; I'm actually autistic too and have never had issues in the House because of it. Everyone here is great at helping make KO spaces and practices more accessible for people with all kinds of disabilities, so don't be afraid to ask for advice if there's anything you're having trouble with.

There's members here who joined the beginner's course with decades of Kemetic experience, and there's members who joined the course with absolutely no experience or knowledge at all. Everyone starts somewhere, and no one here will judge you for it.

I hope you enjoy the course and your time here at the House, however long that may be.
