Ma'at in the mythos...
« on: September 07, 2019, 10:50:56 pm »
Anyone else notice that as important as Ma'at is to everything, there are few stories/legends featuring her?  I only heard of one, where she is called before the gods due to a misdeed...
"Give sorrow a Sailor smile."

"Beyond this road, running on far and long, must surely be something we can believe in."
~ "Pure Heart" by Rikki; Final Fantasy VII, "Aerith's Theme"

I would argue that Ma’at is present, albeit unnamed, in every myth and story, because Ma’at is the essential order of things, the balancing and re-balancing that is interwoven through all lives and all stories.
Look out the window. And doesn't this remind you of when you were in the boat, and then later that night you were lying looking up at the ceiling, and the water in your head was not dissimilar from the landscape, and you think to yourself Why is it that the landscape is moving but the boat is still?
