Hello
Call me Ashlea. I'm currently in the process of discerning whether taking the Beginner Class is something that would benefit my service to Mehet-Weret.

Hello Ashlea!
The good thing about the beginner's class is that it is free, and you have no obligation to stay with the House afterwards. Truthfully, the best way to find out if it would benefit you is to take it and see! You don't have to stick with it if you don't like it. It is an overview of what Kemetic Orthodoxy is all about while putting you in contact with teachers that can answer any potential questions, and also isn't super time intensive

Em hotep and welcome to you!
If you do decide to sign up for it, I hope you enjoy the Beginners Class - it’s only a few weeks long, and is more of an introduction to Kemetic Orthodoxy.
If you decide to stay on as Remetj, great!
If you decide it isn’t for you, that’s also great!

Em hotep and welcome!
You can always stick around until you are sure it's something you want to do - I waited about two or three months after sending in my application many years back. I figured, "why not?" I ended up staying on after I found that it worked for me, but every step was slow and deliberate because that's how I wanted it to be. I hope that no matter what you may choose, now or later, that your path leads you to bright places where your devotion to Mehet-Weret only grows. 🙂

The good thing about the Beginner's class is that it is exactly for people who are uncertain
It's great for people who know for sure they want to join as well, but for people who aren't so sure, it gives you lots of introductory information, allows you to ask questions, and is entirely obligation-free.
So no one is going to pressure you to stay here once the class is done, that's not how we operate.

Thank you for your warm welcome, you're all very kind & encouraging!
Would anybody here be able to allay my worry regarding the handling of personal information? I know that the application form states "Applications are confidential and will only be reviewed by the Kemetic Orthodox Application Office", but I suppose we look at Amazon reviews instead of purchasing whatever salesmen suggest for a reason!
The application asks for my legal name, telephone number and address.
I have a very common legal name and a burner SIM card is cheap, but as to giving my address out, I think that I would feel better with a more thorough understanding of the handling of personal information.

If it helps, in the seven, nearly eight years I've been with the House I've never heard of our personal data being hacked. That leads me to assume it's either destroyed or kept in a secure place.
I would suggest you reach out to Rev Tanebet on your questions, as she's in charge of the Beginner's Class and would know more.

hotep!
the information given in the application is for legal purposes, and so that Hemet (AUS) can run a background check on you to insure that you're someone safe to have in our temple (:
i've never had my personal information leaked, nor have i heard of anyone else who has. i'm pretty sure that information goes to Hemet only, and it's not information she hangs on to

Ah, thank you very much to both of you! I'll see if I can speak to Rev Tanebet as you suggest, Ra'awyserqet.

Em hotep and welcome! For what it's worth, I'm one of the course instructors, and I only ever see names, emails, and city/state/country. I'm pretty sure that phone numbers and specific addresses are only seen by Hemet, and maybe Rev. Tanebet as the chief instructor. If you have any questions about the course, I'm more than happy to answer them, either here or by PM.

Thank you both of you! Shefyt, I've been speaking to Rev Tanebet, and she's been very helpful in discussing it all with me, so I'm going to apply! I hope to see you in a future class.
