Em hotep and welcome back!

I don't think I have anything new to say - just echoing everyone else - we all have our paths, and it usually isn't a straight line.  I think I see that you've asked if you should re-take the beginner's class - I say yes!  Go for it!  And if you want to take a peek at things, you can find the lessons on the forums as well.

Wow, 18 years? That's about as long as I've been gone. I've just submitted an application to take the beginner's class again because I have forgotten so much. Do you think that's a good idea?

I was in the class of 2001 (went to retreat that same year) and yep I came back just before Wep Ronpet last year :)

I think if you feel called to or more comfortable with re-taking the beginner's class, absolutely go for it! It's a great way to re-familiarize yourself with everything, and it definitely can't hurt, so why not!

I decided not to re-take the beginner's class because I felt I'd kept fairly current on my Kemetic practice, even when I was severely wandering for a chunk of years (including other paths) I always tried to stay current and it was always calling me back / pulling at me. I actually found I remembered quite when I came back which was quite a feat for my brain :)

When I came back, I did speak with Hemet via email and just kind of gauge 'how' I could/should come back so to speak just so I could have feedback, it was mentioned I could come back at any level I felt comfortable with -- from the beginning all the way up to the level I was at when I left -- so that was very helpful. I came back as a Shemsu at first and after several months "re-upped" to Shemsu-Ankh. I did definitely run my own refresher through the beginner's lessons in the member's area.

It's been quite the experience over the last year and I'm glad to be back! Being at a completely different stage of my life (nearly 20 years, woo boy) brings an incredible new perspective on being a part of this community.

By the way I see your username has a "2" on it, if you need help with that, if you need help to re-gain access to your old account (if it still exists), Rev. Tjesi could probably help with that.

Nesi,

Wow, Thank you so much for your insight. I really appreciate it. I have emailed Hemet and told her my tale of woe.  ::) I will defer to her what I should do, but I think taking the beginner class again will be good for me. I need to feel accomplished at something and that will help.

What other paths did you follow, if you don't mind me asking? I was working with the Norse pantheon for 10 years (especially with one particular trickster god who kind of helped me ruin my life.  :-X)

Something must be in the air! I was divined in 2005 and have kind of drifted in and out since then. My parents called me back hard this year. I’ve found that  Netjeru in particular are very nurturing, caring, and protective: things I think we all have needed in this strange climate we find ourselves in. I wasn’t expecting it, but they have proven themselves to me many times this year when I really needed it, and I’m feeling pulled to where I’m being fed. You aren’t alone!

Em hotep and welcome back!

As someone who was away from the House for a decade before also being called back this past year, I feel you. <3 I did a lot of wandering through different paths in that time, but all necessary to get me to where I am now. <3

Thanks everyone! I feel so at peace right now. I feel my Father's energy wrapping me in a protective shroud, and I know I'm going to be okay, for the first time in a long time.

I told my partner about my decision today at breakfast. He fully supports me and wishes me well. :-) I can't wait to start studying and interacting again. I'm eager, but not frantic. I know I have time. You know, like, the rest of my life in this body, maybe more. Heh.
