Introduction of a Newbie Far Far Away!
« on: June 29, 2021, 07:20:34 pm »
Hello!

My name is Xulf and I've been looking into Kemetism for around two weeks now; having only looked further into it from personal spiritual meditations of my own. I have always done spiritual meditations to help ease myself, invoking guidance from Yinepu and Djehuty through the typical struggles of younger life such as with exams or dealing with grievances. However it is now that with the new season and a rather brighter sun on the coast here that I begin my journey into studying and making sense of the guides and practices which have helped me before.

Unfortunately due to my age and situation, I am unable to sign up for beginner courses, so any form of virtual media such as PDFs or Videos are highly appreciated! I've already looked into the Book Recommendation Selection and have selected a few, going to see if the Library has them or can get them in.

Thank you for welcoming me, and I look forward to the road laid up ahead by my guidances and Netjer.

Em hotep Xulf <3

I’ve got a few website resources you may find helpful.

Here is a theological encyclopedia of many Netjeru: https://henadology.wordpress.com/theology/netjeru/

Resource on Djehuty:
http://t.web.umkc.edu/tardyg/index.html

Resource on jackal deities, like Yinepu:
http://www.per-sabu.org/links.html

Resource on Kemetic rites; this is just one section of a blog containing lots of Kemetic information:
https://persebek.wordpress.com/practices/

You’re also welcome to post questions here any time  :)

Health and love,

Em hotep, Amunraembia ^^

Thank you so much for the listed materials below in your message! Doing a quick skim over them shows that they're just the thing I need to light my lanterns and head down the path ahead that is the progression towards ma'at.

I plan to clear out some room in my computer desk's cubbies above my monitor to prepare and designate room for a shrine. With other members in an already crowded house, I believe it's the best place to begin.

I'll keep posted with updates!
Thank you,
- Xulf

p.s. I am still getting use to terms, so I heavily apologize if there are any errors ^^"

Em hotep Xulf!

There isn't a whole lot of publicly available material on modern practice. In addition to all the fine resources Embia linked above, these are also good:

Devo's Kemetic starter guide

Tenu, a shemsu-ankh in the House, has a bunch of resources

The Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago offers all their publications in free pdf format
