Bast and 10 Days of Joy
« on: October 31, 2007, 11:26:14 am »
Em Hotep,

Has every one been focusing on joy?  It isn't hard for me to focus on joy because I am normally a happy and serene person.  However, the first words out of my mounth have been thank you.
I wanted to share what happened to me yesterday.

I moved from PA to MT in August and had to sell almost all my stuff.  I have been looking into getting a shine.  Well I saw one on sale for $399 and was wondering how long it would be until I could afford it.

Yesterday I came home from work and sitting by the dumpster in excellent condition was the perfect shrine!!  It had been rained on, but other than that it was in excellent condition.  Its about 7 foot tall and three feet wide with double doors that open out.  It had shelves inside.  It couldn't have been more perfect.  Well the shine weighs a lot and I couldn't get it up the steps.  All of a sudden two guys out of nowhere show up and carry it up then down the stairs to my apartment.  The whole things was just too amazing!

I am in the prcess of cleaning it and once its finished I will post a pictue.

Dua Netjer was all I kept saying!  Netjer provdes! :)

Senebty,
Takhemmuti

I was five or six days in before I found out we were having ten days of joy, but I was off to an excellent start nonetheless with a totally chill weekend with loved ones camping in a state park. :) Beautiful Samhain ritual with fire and stars and mead and friends and interesting romantic developments a few days later. Spent time this weekend with some of my girlfriend's family, and my roommates, and old and new friends, complete with tasty food, comfy new PJs, shiny things for Netjer, and hugs.

And it is good for me to thank Netjer in my own ways, since I don't really have space to do Senut and I am so busy. There is much joy and love in my life.

Hehe. It was a year ago (2007) that Bast gave us the original 10 Days of Joy.

I would love to have this be an annual (or even bi-annual) thing though... 10 Days of Joy, at least once a year: I think quite a few of us could handle this!

I was kind of hoping to that this could be annually. I never got to participate last year(er well, sorta), but was thinking if it didn't get picked up, I'd try doing it for my own personal practice. (Not that we shouldn't be joyful and thankful every day, but its fun to celebrate too. :) )
